THE RULES
Come on guys, you know the drill. These rules are here for a reason, and that means that the staff will enforce them. Three warnings, and you'll get a month-long ban. Break the rules again, and you're banned permanently. Just remember that.
APPLICATION RULES
So the first thing you need to do when you register is create an application. Actually, the first thing is to read these rules, but you've probably got that figured out. Not only do you have to create an application, but you must change your display name to your character's name. No "iluvcaspian28"s because yes, Caspian is wonderful but that would be a horrible first name. What will be allowed is your character's name and their title, though the title isn't necessary since the staff will add it into your custom title. Your choice, really.
Now on to the application: Read it and fill it out. The staff reserve the right to deny applications on the basis of such things as Mary-Sues or anything that doesn't follow the plot. So read the plot, 'kay? Also, after the initial response from the staff, you will have ONE chance to make changes to your application before it is denied permanently.
You may not post in the roleplaying or OOC boards until your application is accepted. We have Ezio who, while not the rules word, is pretty kickass.
See this thread for more info on the application criteria.
ROLEPLAYING RULES
Once you're accepted, you can get on to roleplaying! Not only that, but you can introduce yourself in the OOC boards, which is always fun. Games, graphics, all that jazz.
We are quite honestly look for quality over quantity, but we do have a minimum requirement of 100 words. Your writing should be interesting and fun to read, not a University Psychology essay. Don't sound full of yourself. We're really not asking much, we just don't want to be bored.
All posts are to be done in third person, past tense. For example:
Susan raced down the hall behind Peter, her footsteps quiet as they reached the door.
Do your best to use correct grammar and spelling. I understand typos, they happen to everyone, but reading a post full of mistakes is very difficult and quite annoying. There is a spell checker next to the "Preview" button at the bottom of each post. Use it. It's very useful.
No Godmoding, for kriff's sake. Don't control anyone's character but your own. You may control other characters that are yours if you have more than one. If I were playing both Susan and Peter, and posting as Susan, I could control Peter's actions as well as Susan's. But no one else's.
No Mary-Sues. Or Gary-Stus. I'm tired of them, you're tired of them, we're all tired of them. I will not hesitate to crack down on Mary-Sues, so make sure you know the definition and don't make one! No one is perfect. Every character must have appropriate strengths and weaknesses.
When it comes to adult content (aka drugs, alcohol, sex, etc) keep in mind that this is a PG-13 board (as per Proboads Terms of Service) so keep it to a minimum. There may be younger roleplayers on this site, and they may not appreciate such things. Use methods such as fade-to-black. If you want to RP anything above that rating, keep it to PMs or contact an admin for other options. Failure to do so will result in a warning.
GRAPHICS RULES
So you want an avatar or a signature? Sure. Avatars can be as large as 150x200px and signatures are fine as long as they don't stretch the page. We'll let you know if it's a problem, 'kay? They also have to be for your character, and even if you don't have a PB, I'm sure you can find an image of, say, a minotaur. Be creative, but on-topic.
OOC RULES
Aslan's Will is meant to be a friendly, relaxed setting. Any harrassment will be dealt with. If you have a problem with another member, keep it to PMs. By the way, just thought you should know: Rules word, the lantern. If you are having trouble with someone, send a PM to an admin. We will sort out the situation. That's our job. No spamming, advertising, or anything like that except in the appropriate forums.
Just remember: just because a character may hate yours, that doesn't mean that the member hates you.
ACTIVITY RULES
You may have as many characters as you wish on this site, though you may not have any that are related to one another (ie Lucy and Peter Pevensie). While you may have as many characters as you want, you must keep active with them all. That means at least one post per two week, even in the ooc boards. We just want to know that you're alive and still interested. If there is some reason that cannot, post in the absences board.
That's it! Hope you have fun.
