Long ago there was Amana, an island uninhabited. Until a small group of people landed on its shore. The travelers were fleeing their homelands to escape the war that was growing between their nations. In the company there were four races: witches, elves, fairies, and dragons. The four groups lived together on the island for many years before they each decided to separate into their own small kingdoms. In the center of these four kingdoms a land that came to be called Spinta where a few that believed the four peoples should live together and not separate resided. But at least there was peace.
Until the Lord Jonas Telimar took control of the witches kingdom. He desired that the whole nation be under one power. His power. Amana was caught in a war then, one that nearly destroyed it. But the Councils of Spinta managed to negotiate peace with the waring nations once again. A peace of course which did not last. The four nations were on the verge of war once again when a new contender entered the fight, halfbreeds, the children of slaves for the most part. The halfbreeds revolted and tried to finally make their own place in Amana.
In the end though they were beaten by another newcomer to the Island. A pair of sirens from the underwater kingdom of Desglacies decided to breakaway from the old siren kingdom and create their own empire, on land. Between the halfbreed revolt and the sirens the people of Amana were thrown into chaos.
The fairies, the peaceful ones, were all killed in the mess that ensued. The dragon's government is in ruins and its every village for itself now. The witches are divided over politics and succession. The elves on the other hand decided they are tired of dealing with the squabbles and have withdrawn into their forest home. The sirens also are broken in two with the underwater nation keeping mostly to itself and the new land nation desiring expansion. And then there are the halfbreeds who following the revolution have mostly become the slaves of the other races.
